unity-panel-ser 吃内存

安装了Ubuntu16.10,经常死机(慢,不反应,重启就会好)。top查看发现是这个叫做“unity-panel-ser”的程序再吃内存。google之后发现是owncloud和qt-5的问题。检索到解决方法如下,记下来,下次遇到可以用。

  • apt install appmenu-qt5
  • in your ~/.profile, add ‘export QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=appmenu-qt5’
  • reload your session

顺便vmware安装和启动遇到问题。安装需要下载vmware的workstation player的新版本。启动的时候,每次都需要重新编译内核,解决方式是:

sudo apt-get install linux-headers-3.8.0-19-generic
sudo /usr/bin/vmware-modconfig –icon=vmware-workstation –appname=VMware

关于“知识不重要,思考才重要”

今天在读我的《学会学习和思考》课上学生的总结。注意到一件事情,非常典型(在我的学生中不算典型,但是在中小学甚至大学老师学生中应该很典型)。有一位同学反映,说,我不太同意老师的说法,“知识不重要,思考才重要”。主要理由是,如果我们知识都没有,如何开展思考呢?因此,还是应该多看参考文献,才能开展研究,学习的时候还是应该先学会一些知识,再来思考。这是瞎扯淡。和那个认为教思考教思想大图景是最后一个馒头(于是必须先吃其他的例如快速的口算,记住历史事件的时间地点人物和意义等等馒头)一样。

第一,我有知识不重要就不需要学习的意思吗?我的意思是不能为了学习知识而学习知识,不能因为这个内容其他人或者书都认为该学就学。学习知识一定要有大图景(典型问题、典型思考方式、典型分析计算方法)的追求在后面。第二,在没有大图景的时候就看大量的文献,或者学习很多的知识,那么文献和知识只能够带来束缚。这个就好像天天冲着那一堆前面的馒头来吃,永远也不可能吃到最后的馒头一样。早就吃吐了。需要在吃第一个馒头的时候就想着大图景。于是,吃的少,得到的多,吃的有方向感,舒服。

没想到,在我的课堂里坐着,随时可以问问题,还有这样的学生。足以见得,中国学生多么不喜欢表达。我的课堂的里面最最鼓励大家做的事情就是:有什么不同意见,说。我问我所想问,我说我所想说。老师们,一定要注意,给学生们时间和勇气,张嘴问问题。只要提问背后必然有思考。

因此,我在这里再一次强调,具体知识一定要教得越少越好,在能够说明这个学科的大图景(典型问题、典型思考方式、典型分析计算方法)和能够帮助学生实现自学(自学的意愿,学习方法和学什么的方向感)的前提下。为了学习知识而教和学习知识都是没有意义的。老师在决定教学内容之前一定要确定好一个学科的大图景,并且把具体知识和大图景联系起来找到每一个所要教的具体知识理据性。

刚才和我的一位同事聊天,他说,其实只要喜欢思考,开始思考,知识就会有。是的,这个完全正确,科学之所以从神学和哲学中独立出来并且发展起来,最根本的就是批判性思维、实验,加上系联性思考(联系起来是的整体更加简单原理更少)。因此,只要开始思考就会有知识。学之前,之中,之后,都要思考,而不是仅仅在之后。永远不承认自己还没有理解的尚未思考以后并且想通了的事情,甚至把它们当作进一步思考的基础。学习知识的过程本身就不是记忆的过程,而是思考怀疑理解的过程

我一直用Feynman的例子:如果有一天人类将灭亡,为了将来给新的人类文明留下一句话,你给你的学科留什么?Feynman说,物理的话,他就留下:物质由原子构成。在这里,对于科学,我就留下:通过怀疑和思考来搞懂这个世界。
