On Linux systems you can also enter the command<br \/>\nupdmap &#8211;edit<br \/>\nto edit the config file. Find the lines<br \/>\n#<\/p>\n<h1>pdftexDownloadBase14<\/h1>\n<p>#<\/p>\n<h1>Should pdftex download the base 14 pdf fonts? Since some configurations<\/h1>\n<h1>(ps \/ pdf tools \/ printers) use bad default fonts, it is safer to download<\/h1>\n<h1>the fonts. The pdf files will get bigger, though.<\/h1>\n<h1>Valid settings are true (download the fonts) or false (don&#8217;t download<\/h1>\n<h1>the fonts).<\/h1>\n<p>pdftexDownloadBase14 true<\/p>\n<p>Make sure pdftexDownloadBase14 is set to true. If it is not, change it, and run updmap once.
